Dropbox offers functions as a storage service (2GB) that simply syncs files between any number of computers and the web. It supports file revision, so files deleted from the Dropbox folder may be recovered from any of the synced computers. In the free version of Dropbox version history is limited to 30 days.
The Dropbox client enables users to drop any file into a designated folder that is then synced to the cloud (ie Amazon’s S3 storage) and to any other of the user’s computers with the Dropbox client. You can also upload files manually through a web browser. Files uploaded via the web site are limited to a maximum of 300 MB per file.
