Areca Backup is a reliable backup tool that is written entirely in Java.
To perform a backup you create a repository (target: a local folder or an FPT server) and choose the source (map).
You can choose whether you want subfolders included in the backup, if you want to keep your backup in an archive folder, if you want your backup file split up, if you want your backup to be encrypted with AES-128, if you want scripts to be performed before/after the backup run, etc. It is possible to create specific backup strategies.
Areca supports various backup types, including a full backup, incremental and so-called delta backups. With delta backups only the changed parts of files are stored, and not the entire file. Areca provides transactional write operations, which considerably reduces the probability of corrupt backups.
